Do We Really Know?

Do we really know what our obedience will trigger?

& If we really knew what our obedience might trigger, would we go all out–and do what The Lord is asking of us?

Do we really know what our obedience will trigger?

Which doors it might open
Which processes it might expedite, & accelerate~
Which grace it might cause to occur
What strength it might loose & release
Which peace it might give
What faith it would sharpen~
What faith it would bloom

What destiny it would call out & call forward
What life it might create & bless

Nothing like your past.

W e l c o m e   January!

It’s 2018–A brand new year with pages and pages waiting to be filled.

As I laid in my bed the other night, thinking and talking to the Lord, I felt that the Holy Spirit said two specific things to me:

  1. Live in the new place He’s taking you.
  2. Let Him write the next page.

In my world, 2018 already has some new things taking place. I have experienced some new “land”… some new territory that the Lord is asking me to walk on. He has asked me to change some of my mindsets that aren’t helping me, but have been hindering me.

A L R E A D Y , He is asking of me: a Deeper trust and a breaking out of my comfort zones.

He is F A I T H F U L.

…and that is really what we need to sink our teeth into, as we begin this new year.  No matter what this year holds, He is holding it and our job is to trust and listen to what He is saying to us.

Point 1: Live in the new place He’s taking you.

No matter how uncertain or shaky the ground you’re standing on right now, “live in the new place He’s taking you”. God is always doing something new. Certain seasons we perceive it more than others, but when we are looking to Him to lead our lives, He is always taking us somewhere. Live There. Flow from there. Hope in that place…where God is leading.

The thing that stood out to me, in the image above, was truly the second part:

“And it looks nothing like your past.”

Matthew 9:17 says, “And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the old skins would burst from the pressure, spilling the wine and ruining the skins. New wine is stored in new wineskins so that both are preserved.”

& in Mark 2:22, “And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the wine would burst the wineskins, and the wine and the skins would both be lost. New wine calls for new wineskins.”

Let’s step into the “New” that God has for us,  L E A V I N G  THE PAST  B E H I N D  US.

We cannot truly move forward, if we are still holding on to the past. Be it, in our memories, our mindsets, our decision making, what we think about others, ourselves, and God. New is New. New wine for New wineskins. God clears the path and equips us with what we need.

Point 2. Let Him write the next page.

And this is where new levels of trust are requested. When we are wrestling with doubt and fear, we have to hold to the promises God has given us in His word. There are SO Many promises, promises of “good, and not to harm us” (Jeremiah 29:11). We take the Lord at His word, and He meets us every step. If we ask for His leadership, He will “write the next page”.

Psalm 31:19:

How abundant are the good things
that you have stored up for those who fear you,
that you bestow in the sight of all,
on those who take refuge in you.

As this new year unfolds, let’s hold on to that promise, along with hundreds of others in God’s word. Let’s “hold on tightly to what is good.” (Rom. 12:9)

In this new year, let’s trust God to unfold His destiny, writing our stories.

He will bring us all the way Through

Through and through. Through and through. Our job is to trust. And keep looking to Him. It’s that clear and when we do this, we find peace.

Bullied.

I Was one of many to know the pain and loooong aftermath that comes with that experience. What comes next after bullying is maybe the harder battle.

But God has done much. He has brought me through and through…Much. I have learned where I am to take refuge. I have learned where to run to…the right and healthy place to run to.

Jesus.

This blog today is short and simple, but I pray…my prayer is that this brings encouragement to every person reading this ….because in my life of 23 yrs, looking back, I am now able to see some things that God has brought me through and through, time after time. As long as it takes, His heart stays willing to keep making the way for us.

A few months ago, I went to a meeting with many…well, hundreds of young people in one big room…and old feelings and flashbacks crept back in my mind, but that night when I laid in bed, God gave comfort and met me where I was.

He gently Silenced my thoughts.

In my journal, I wrote:

“…But tonight as I lay in bed God reassures me, that ‘He will bring us all the way through. Through and through.’ Our job is to trust Him. And keep looking to Him. It’s just that simple.”

And tonight, as I write this out, this is still, TRUE.

Through it all, God is refining us.

Refining. Redesigning. Making whole what was broken, misused, talked down to, over and over; as long as it takes. That’s us. That’s how great our God is.

Refine: it’s definition is : to remove impurities or unwanted elements from (a substance)

Synonyms for the word are: to purify, to treat, to perfect and polish.
I would add to that list: to care for, to invest time in, to see deep value in the end product)

That’s us. God desires to remove all the ugliness and the unwanted things that have happened and have been spoken to us… actions done to us and words spoken over us were NEVER Meant to define us. HE is the only One who is Worthy, and well-Worthy of defining us.—-So now, HE is refining us and we can take shelter and let Him. We have to let him do what He must. …and that’s where trust comes in.

It’s all for our good. The testing, the trusting, and… the Refining. And he doesn’t leave us for one moment, not a second. If only we could just remember that and tie that around our neck like a treasure of gold.

Psalm 12:6: “The words of the LORD are pure words; As silver tried in a furnace on the earth, refined seven times.”

Another translation says, “The Lord’s promises are pure..”

What does He promise us?

What does His word say?

1 Peter 1:3-9:All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay.

And through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see.

So be truly glad.[b] There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold.

So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy. 9 The reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls.”

What does HE promise us?—-He promises mercy, protection, salvation, new life given, being kept by Him, wonderful joy, an undefiled inheritance, strengthened faith, a reward for our trust….. and this is only 1 PASSAGE from His word. There’s so much more for us to read and make a part of Who He is making to be. He will bring us all the way through. Through and through.

You may not be there yet.

But HE Will.

His hand is Not too short. His eyes are Not closed. He is Not sleeping.

He will bring us all the way through.

A Hard Battle WON // Recovering

A hard battle.

“Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.”  —Plato

Looking back, I remember distinct times in my life when I was trying to recover from harsh words or hurtful actions that changed the way I thought about myself. I took the lies, the words, that were spoken and believed them. Wrestling with this, I was trying to recover and remember the Truth.

I was fighting a hard battle.

Now, several years later, God has restored much and has healed me in these areas and I know that people will say what they want, but we make the choice to make those words ours and take them in. Wish I would have believed that then, but we grow and we learn, right?

And Bottom Line, the Final word should Always be God’s; what He says about us are the only words that matter and hold true.

Finding my footing, again. Rewriting Grace and mercy and Love over all those areas and memories in my life; receiving Truth from LOVE Himself, from what God has to say about me. It’s a journey, but it’s the only way for me; for us. We have to retrain our thoughts and our minds; this is our recovering ground, our recovery.

Identity is so huge. Who we are in GOD, in Christ. This is what makes the difference. We have to learn who we are and how GOD sees us as His. But, more importantly than just knowing this, we have to believe this and write this on our hearts and let it color everything we do. Of course, this is a process. Definitely not an overnight thing, but this process is vital and ever so worth it. The strength you find when you begin to see yourself as God does is mighty.

Last night, in my God time, as I was thinking about writing this blog, God gave me Romans 8:19. :

19 For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are.

WHO HIS CHILDREN REALLY ARE.

“The person God wanted me to be all along was screaming to be found. Accepted. Treasured. SEEN and Beheld.

In my journal, I then wrote what I felt the Lord say to me:

“I am not alone.

I am One of many.

Trying to Recover ME

—-And just as I am one of many, God knows ME. God knows exactly where I am, this second, while I am writing this to you.”

Our GOD is a great GOD and Our GOD knows what it’s like.

He knows what we have had to walk through. He knows what those memories have looked like and what those spoken words have been—–But our God——HE Knows Who We Really Are. We are HIS.

Backing up just a few verses. Romans 8: 17-18:

17 And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.

18 Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.

No, God was not happy with whatever hurtful actions or words that found you and I, but He was with us and felt our pain. He saw it, heard it, and knows it all and He’s sorry.

The good news is that He is the Great Healer, our Wounded Savior.

“But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture. Malachi 4:2.

God, I ask you to Recover us. Recover us Whole and take your glory.

Everyone has a place.

While driving on our way to Florida to visit family, we passed a grove of trees that stretched for a couple of miles. I’ve always been drawn to trees, but there was something special about these; something screaming, calling for my attention, reaching out to me.

“Everyone has a place here.”

There were rows of same sized, fully grown trees. Rows upon rows and then there would be one tiny tree. Then more rows of grown trees and then one small tree…and again developed, tall trees next to one that looked to be brand new, just planted; just breaking ground.

Something echoed within me yet again: “everyone has a place here.”

In God’s eyes we are those trees. The rows of big trees AND then right next to them: very very small trees and it’s ALL OKAY. The bottom line is that that is ALL OKAY.

We grow with Him, and in Him in our own time… in our own way and He loves it.

A few years back, God gave me a melody that said: He takes pleasure in this process… and He does. Whatever “this” process is for you does not compare to the fact that He is in the process with you and He loves every step we make towards what He is calling us to be.

It was never meant to be a competition or a comparing fest. As unique as we are… that’s as unique as our journey path. In His eyes, we all have a place- a unique and beautiful place. We can trust Him with our growth. As painful and trying and weary as that picture may be, we can trust Him with our growth, our seasons, and Change in our lives. If we are leaning on Him and looking to Him, we put ourselves in the best position to receive what He wants to give us.  —Unwavering love and His Enduring peace. (I’m still searching for that enduring peace myself 😉 ) But I’m trying. ..and that’s all He requires.

As we begin to trust, we begin to change more and more like the Father and we begin to change into the person that He already sees in us because of what Jesus Did.

That moment, seeing those trees, passed me by before I could take a picture, but I know I won’t forget that image, because that image is you and me and That’s BEAUTIFUL.

Who I am.

Tell me once more who I am

Of the soul you see in me

Tell me once more who I am

Seeing what you see in me

Tell me once more who I am

Father what you say of me

God you say I’m Free Indeed.

Tell me once more who I am

The person that you made to be

Tell me once more who I am

The person that you’re making me

God you say I’m Free Indeed.

Tell me once more who I am

The gifting that you’ve placed in me

Tell me once more who I am

Laced with love infinitely

Clothed with strength and dignity

God you say I’m Free Indeed.

Tell me once more who I am

You complete what you begin

Tell me once more who I am

Jesus came that I should live

Tell me once more who I am

In my weakest you are strong

I am your prize, I am your song

God you say I’m Free Indeed.

Now I know just who I am

Alive and guarded by His hand

He will answer who I am

He will tell me what He sees in ME

Truth and Life He’ll speak to Me

God you say I’m Free Indeed.

So I am.
